Endo Urology
At United Super Speciality Hospital, we specialize in advanced minimally invasive urological procedures to ensure optimal patient outcomes with reduced recovery time. Below is an overview of some of the key urological procedures performed at our center.

RIRS (Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery)
RIRS is a minimally invasive endoscopic procedure used to treat kidney stones and upper urinary tract conditions. A flexible ureteroscope is passed through the urethra, bladder, and ureter to access the kidney without any incision. Laser lithotripsy is used to fragment and remove stones, ensuring a faster recovery with minimal complications.

PCNL (Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy)
PCNL is the gold-standard treatment for large kidney stones (>2 cm) that cannot be managed by less invasive techniques. A small incision is made in the back to insert a nephroscope directly into the kidney. Using ultrasonic or laser energy, stones are broken into smaller pieces and removed efficiently. This procedure is highly effective for complex and staghorn calculi.
URSL (Ureteroscopic Lithotripsy)
URSL is a minimally invasive procedure used for treating ureteric stones. A semi-rigid or flexible ureteroscope is inserted through the urethra and bladder to access the ureter. Laser or pneumatic lithotripsy is employed to break the stones, which are then extracted using stone baskets or fragments naturally pass out with urine. URSL offers a high success rate with minimal hospital stay.

VIU (Visual Internal Urethrotomy)
VIU is a specialized procedure for the treatment of urethral strictures. A cystoscope is introduced into the urethra to identify the narrowed segment, which is then incised using a cold knife or laser. This method improves urinary flow and relieves obstructive symptoms. VIU is a simple, safe, and effective technique for short-segment strictures.
TURP (Transurethral Resection of the Prostate)
TURP is the gold-standard surgical procedure for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). A resectoscope is inserted through the urethra to remove excess prostate tissue that obstructs urine flow. This technique provides significant symptom relief, improved urinary flow, and long-term results without external incisions.
